What is the tempo?
No idea... I haven't figured out how to do that in Reaper yet...

Does this help?

In musical terminology, tempo (Italian for 'time'; plural 'tempos', or tempi from the Italian plural), measured in beats per minute, is the speed or pace of a given composition, and is often also an indication of the composition's character or atmosphere

That still sounds good man. Finger tone and in key.
Thanks, but .....Nah, the first night I did the backing track last week, I was in a better state of mind, and should have recorded it then....

Last night I was have trouble feeling it, but hell, this isn't my day job, so I figure I'd throw it out there to set the baseline low for everyone else

I don’t think you’re giving yourself enough credit. I almost didn’t listen to yours until I started mine. It’s interesting how differently people approach the same backing track. That’s what makes this exercise so cool.

💯

When we were doing these last year (before I moved and got busy with .. stuff) I always was amazed how everyone's approach to the same backing track was so different.

Sometimes, with the right tone, it just falls into place, last night I forced it, thusly, I am not totally happy with it...

And I would never listen to others before recording, didn't want to be.... Tainted 😂

Alright, I listened to the backing track a few times, and thought I'd put down a couple ideas as tracks. Just first-try, first take, whatever comes to mind. Well, as you know, ideas get left out because they're too silly or I don't have the chops, but I thought naw... just go with it. So here's my very rough first go at it. Backing track +rhythm, +lead one (octave pedal squeaky high), and +lead two, a little more reasonable but still just a mess. Pretty cringy, but it’s fun. I might take a second shot at when I’m in a better headspace.

@speelyei ok... You got something building up here...

That first lead tone is damn tasty.

That Octave lead has my grinning 😺

You got more chops than me!

I might give it another go tonight .. different guitar, real tube amp.... I used my Demon EFx VH4 (Diezel clone) preamp last night straight into the cab sim... I am going to heat up the room with some tubes tonight....
