I really liked the harmonics on your first version, Reverend. The second version sounds great, but I'll need to listen to these when I can focus... the household is a bit hectic on the weekends.

I haven't thought about how it might change the sound to run through a real amp.
I just run my guitar into my pedalboard, from there into a Line6POD, and then into the Scarlett2i2.
Sometimes the problem for me is option paralysis. There's so many sounds in the POD alone... I end up setting it to a clean setting and forgetting about it. I noticed I had some weird reverb or echo I couldn't eliminate, even with all the pedals off. I bet it's coming from the POD, duh!

1 amp limits those options....

Truthfully, I went through 4 guitars to et the rhythm tone... ended up with my '07 Fender LE Koa Strat...

Tried 3-4 more guitars for the Lead sound, ended up with my Stremel/BME S-46 with GFS Mini-Filtertrons.

The amp I used was my BME V-12 home built High Gain monster, that is the cleanest I could get it for the Rhythm 🥴

Yesterday, the wife and I were running around an James Brown's Greatest Hits was playing, listening to how Jimmy Nolen laid down the rhythm groove on those tunes made me think about how I could have played the rhythm on this....

IMHO, you both did a great job! You both have better chops than me.

BTW, the reason I asked about tempo, when I imported your track into my DAW, it plays it at the tempo my DAW is set to… not necessarily where you played it. I was trying to match your tempo.

I haven't figured out how to get Reaper to set the grid to the recorded tempo yet, as it would be cool to MIDI synch my Synth too...

But it seems like you have to sacrifice a goat and 3 other small mammals, which isn't worth it

Thank you! I sure hope you post a track, too.

Reaper is a remarkable tool. I have barely used it. One thing I’d benefit from is a much larger screen!
I find my experience with Reaper is just like my experience with Excel… I learn only what I need to accomplish my task at the moment🤣

I had/have several ideas that I’m not sure how to pursue. Other ideas, I know what to do but it just takes time.

Either way, I hope other folks jump on board.
