Snark ditches the flimsy break-when-I-need-you-the-most clip, makes it rechargeable, and then plants a beacon of lighted advertisement on your headstock while using it.

Don’t know whether to love or hate it…

I like the (indestructible) TC Electronics UniTune so much, don’t know if I’d even bother popping for one of these Airs.

I’ve gone through two Snarks in three years and I think J- Peasy also managed to kill one in about a year. Now I’m talking about normal use,at home one guitar at a time ,no crazy extreme usage.I think Snarks are junk.I’ve been using an Orange clip on from when I bought my Orange guitar starter pack for about ten years.image.jpg

I read about the loathing for Snarks, and yes, I too have had the clips break.

But of all the clip on tuners I've used the Snarks remain the best. Sensitive. Easy to use. Clear and uncomplicated displays.

Oh, and I've bought them for a fraction of the price of these other, newer, supposedly "better" ones. So even including those I've seen break and become useless they have not really cost me any premium for their usable goodness.

Now why Snark doesn't fix those clips so that they don't break... well that I do not understand. Nor why they sell so many basically the same models at such a wide-range of prices.

I buy the cheapest Snarks and remain generally pleased with them.

As to floor pedals.. well, yeah. And mine is 'fed' by the wireless receiver set to the channel I use on all such - so it is always on as long as I am plugged in.

I use very small DAddario clip ons on the BACK of the head stock, you can hardly tell it's there.

I just play around the house so its good enough for me, could be good enough for giggin, who knows?

I'm not a fan of that Snark Air aesthetic. The rechargeable is a nice feature. Since I've been playing mostly acoustic, and had three really suspect and inexpensive clip-on tuners that were just slow and inaccurate, I recently went for a deep dive down the clip-on tuner rabbit hole. I would venture to guess that the TC Electronics is best, and if I wanted only one, that would be it. Instead, I purchased a few cheapies that work fine, and this one, really a great tuner for $16.00, especially if you're not using a floor tuner and you have old man eyes. You can really see this baby easily, as the screen fills with green to 12:00 Noon once you hit pitch:

Looks like your Fender logo is farting. 🤣
I know it’s immature and juvenile but I just couldn’t resist.

I'm still on my second Snark. The first I ruined somehow...could be because I jammed the battery in upside-down...
I ordered the new Snark on Saturday, as a little present to myself for my 55th birthday next week. Should be here in a day or two. Got it mainly for rechargability and I've had zero issues with the two I've had.

Agree with this-- I've had one Snark tuner for at least ten years, and like it enough that I bought a newer version about two years ago just for the convenience of keeping one each in separate rooms. I've always found them very accurate and reliable, and have had no issues at all.

After my second or third Snark broke at the same pivot point I decided to write Snark customer service. They asked me to send a picture of the broken part(s), which I did.

I was sent a brand-new Snark.

That one also broke at the same place ... but I just decided enough was enough and switched over to the Unitune (got one for $9.99 at Sweetwater). Now that's a tuner, folks.
