had to go to lowes again and spend another 3 bucks..jeezzzz, so now im into this thing for 16 bucks..lol, framed in the back...next is to sand and stain...
fubar update..LOL...so I have to cut holes in the front and back of the cloth on the speaker baffle, which I had already pre-drilled the holes to mount it to the front trim pieces, so I go to lay it in and it wont fit in the box, why? cuz the back lid trim pieces that I GLUED and screwed the other day are in the way!!!! so I take out the screws and hope it will just tap off, well they didnt, I had to pry and hammer them off, luckily there wasnt too much damage, note to self...dont fully secure anything in the back until you are competely done with the front...lol
hey 5, I have a crate XT120R 2x12 combo that has a built in ext cab jack..hense the cab..lol...todays progress...1st coat, let it sit overnight, 000 steel wool it and then coat 2 tomorrow...
Thanks!!! Im happy with the color, I wanted a darker shade so the lighter grill cloth would pop..now its a waiting game, so I added everything up that I had out of pocket, came to under 40 bucks, and even if I popped for a good piece of 3/4 birch it would have been under a hundred...the sad thing is it is going to sit empty for a bit cuz were going to hawaii in nov, then the holidays...ouch...
but I still have to order the corners, jack plate and top handle....
Wow looks great. Really like the stain job, it does pop with the contrast of the grill cloth. Kinda reminds me of an Advent speaker I once stained darker, with the original lighter grill cloth.
well i get off on doing stuff on my own, this was a good one..the next one will be a 4x12..now i can always get a head and have the best of both worlds...
