Cool! whatcha gunna do?

Man I am so impressed by the sound coming out of the 51 I may leave it alone for a while and keep working on becoming a better player. I don't want to let my practice slide because I am modding.

The home made guitar with the Micheal Camp headstock needs some work.
It has two hot Humbuckers that really howl But I noticed the bobbin winding on one of the HB's is loose and the ring holding it in place needs to be replaced.

Camp was a local custom furniture maker that made a few guitars when he could not get the sound he was looking for.

I am open to any and all suggestions on guitar #2. They both play really well.

Well my modder say's I should eat right,,, yeah o.k.,, I like the second one. Very sharp, what are you going to do to them?

How do you think the second one would look with a lighter satin finish and new Hums? It has German tuners and either an ebony or rosewood neck.

Both hold a tune really well.

I think I am going to play them both a lot and it may inspire me after really understanding their personalities.

The 51 feels like a Strat but sounds like a Tele. It has a coil switch and a three position pup switch...no tone just volume. It is bright and cutting.

Love the Maple neck. I can't believe Squier could not make a go of it with this really fine instrument. I guess they are trying to bring them back. The pups on the 51 are great!
Tell me your thoughts?

Not to be a drag or fuddy duddy on this but I wouldn't touch the Michael Camp guitar other then to clean it up.
I love the look, the aggressive grain and the two Buckers,, very nice.

I was looking at and playing it today and you may be right on. Maybe replace the bucker on the loose one or repair it. It is a really nice guitar. I do love the wood on it!

Some kind of tone control for the 51 would be the first mod I would do. I just don't get why someone would make a guitar without it. Maybe I'm just getting old:)

I don't dissigree...but I am mezmerized by the sound. of this 51.. I will, I know grow out of that.

My maple neck needs a good cleaning...the strings were just replaced so I don't want to change out yet...what can I use to get the dirt out of the frets...don't care if I have to use Qtips.

This is a really good guitar for as cheap as it was!

LA, if you are here...you said don't change this beautiful home-made Micheal Camp, so what can I use to clean the tuners? Soak them in a good cleaner.

You would, have to make me take a second look at her LOL!...and you are so right...I will leave original.

Just want to get the crud out and make her shine again. And fix the bucker.

Looked up all her parts today and they were expensive new...the body I have no idea how to put a price on the workmanship and wood.

I found this today:
