Does anybody here have any experience with a Tune O Matic bridge for a Jaguar? I want to do the same as my JMJM but I’m not sure which one to use.My concern is radius, post spacing and saddle spacing. I know all the purists will say stay with the stock Wobbly Wonder but I don’t like it or want it. All help is appreciated.
Thanks.

If you get a good Bridge, it will have 2 Screws per Saddle, so you set your Radius that way. I think you might have this Bridge Specs? I think a Tune o Matic comes with 12 Degree Radius built in.

Three things:
The current inserts cannot accept a TOM threaded insert, so you’d have to replace the bridge, and the body inserts.

If you go that route, read up on doing it, because if you make a mistake, you’ll really regret it. Make sure you’re buying the same spacing (posts, and string).

The TOM should match the 9.5 radius of the neck, most are 12” radius.

Look up “Jaguar Bridge setup” on this site, and read the decades of experience of how they learned to live with the stock bridge.

Thanks I did some measurements of the TOM on my JMJM and will likely order something with the same specs. for The Jag. I will not use the stock one with the tremolo.like I said the purists can muck about with the bridge all they want or not .I want to use a TOM.

My. $.02 cents, the wobble wonder is still the best one. An believe me I’m no purist ;) Yes the threaded saddles. You can adjust the string spacing and the string height for each individual string, nothing beats that. The problem is nobody wants to spend the time to completely take them apart and put Loctite on every single thread and then reset it up, it’s tedious
To your point, on my own builds, I have used a TOM bridge with a jazz trem and have no problems

I'd take this guy's advice seriously.

If I was super set on a Jaguar with a TOM style bridge, I'd look at the Contemporary Jaguars. Seems easier to fit one of those with a Bigsby type trem (or leave it stop tail) than to go through the mess @radiotech was talking about.

But to each his own, if you know what you want, good luck and hope you and up loving it

The Fender adjust-o-matic is what Fender uses on the Jaguars they ship with TOM. I just put one on my VM Jaguar, had to drill out thimble holes for threaded thimbles. I immediately ditched the Fender version of the TOM, it's dated with slot head screws which are a PIA compared to simple Phillips head. The Fender bridge probably could be ok if you want to go through adding loctite to every screw. Thing buzzs and rattles more than a model T. I used a modern Nashville Gotoh in its place, tighter saddles, Phillips head intonation screws and just plays better. I'm not new or inexperienced with mustang, Jag and TOM bridges, most of my mustangs run Gotoh TOM. The spacing and radius never seemed to be noticeable or an issue. Oh and a big factor you will most likely have to shim your neck, that is if you want a playable action.

I used cardboard from the flaps off of a cinnamon toast crunch box. A full pocket and then right at the heel a 2nd piece that goes about 1mm past the screw holes if that makes sense. I refused to pay $11 for a piece of wood, so to keep it punk rock I used the CTC box in my pantry. All of my Mustangs and jaguar have this set up. Well most, I kept 2 Mustang stock for nostalgia

Would it work if it was from a Corn Flakes box?;)

I just recently learned about the radius difference between the neck and the TOM bridge on the JMJM. However, after a professional set up and a new bone nut, I haven't had any problems. FWIW - I do have a Buzzstop on this guitar

I see you’ve Bought the AOM assembly. Not sure if this is a fill and drill scenario. I know that swapping the CP AOM to a traditional (or Mastery) is fill and drill. Hope it works out. I am a fan of the Staytrem and it’s pretty stable if you get the washers from the American Pro bridge.

All done .It took about 2 hours with no problems at all.Got the intonation all set, neck is shimmed lock button works perfectly.I really don’t see what the big deal was about drilling for the larger inserts. If someone can’t handle a drill they shouldn’t drill out their guitars.I decided to do what Corn did.The trem works perfectly with no tuning issues.
