Now I’m thinking Marshall. I played the DSL40 (at 20 watts) and the AC15 today (both quite loudly). The Marshall sounded better, even clean, and it seemed more responsive to my pick attacks as well. I haven’t tried the GOAT Fender Deluxe Reverb. I may not bother.

I was very happy with the VOX AC10C1 I had for about 6 months, but I sold some guitars and found myself with a pocket full of money so I bought a Mesa Boogie Studio Caliber DC-2 I had been lusting over for a couple of years. Zero regrets.

I love the Fenders for their clean drive tones. But I also love the Marshall for their dirty drive tones. I love 80s rock and roll, metal and hard versions of other genres. Most of my top fave players from this era used either a Fender or a Marshall.
