The HM's first appeared in the Squier 1989 catalog:
and mercifully were gone by the 1992 catalog. Fender was chasing a fad that they should have just left to the likes of Jackson.
I be honest, I HAD thought about looking for one a Heavy Metal model, but I realized something. I already DO have a Squier that is very similar and qualifies !
2000 Squier StageMaster Deluxe HSH.
Body colored maple neck thru basswood body with 24 jumbo fretted rosewood fingerboard topped with a reversed body-colored headstock. It has a HSH pup set with a licensed Floyd Rose that's actually quite decent (...so far). The only thing that's sub-par, IMO, are the stock pups. But that's an easy swap.
