Forum navigation question

So I’m pretty new to this forum and I have a stupid question.
Unlike every other forum I am a member of I can not figure out how to navigate through it. On other forums for instance, if I am on page 7 and I select a thread on that page and read it I can then hit the return button and I’m back on page 7 to continue.
Here if I’m on page 7 of the bass guitar forum for instance and I click on a thread, once I finish reading it the only back button I see is at the top of the page but it takes me right back to page one. Unless I’m missing something, this is unusual on forums.
What am I missing?

I don't have a cellphone. I use a laptop, and if I'm on page 4 of the "Squier Stratocaster" forum, and I go to page 600, if I click the back button on my browser, it takes me back to page 4.

I haven’t tried my laptop. Perhaps they are different to my cell. The funny thing is I am a member of three of the sister sites (Strat, Les Paul and Marshall) and they all have the correct back feature, even on my cell.
Very strange indeed.
