I can not stand the man.Has he reviewed a guitar he didn't love? I like watching him too, but I don't think he's ever said anything was just crap.

I don't know about all that.I've always found this strange. The idea is that he's just a regular guy (he and the other youtubers/influencers), so he is 'authentic' and more trustworthy than a company advertising its product.
But he is under no real legal obligation to disclose whether or not he is getting recompense or any sort, since he's just a guy making videos on youtube. The ones that tell when they have been given free equipment or such do so voluntarily as an effort to show they are impartial.
But again, disclosing that in no way binds them to 'authentic' or impartial commentary.
The saddest part is that it is a money making scam that uses your time, attention and clicks to fund lifestyles, bills, vacations, etc. The videos all generally play the viewer for a sucker. It's like a salesman who just needs to make 100 phone calls a week to get paid. The video isn't anything of value at all, it's just a salesman's call in order to get paid.
They are algorhythmic--they all know the optional run time, they use similar video title structures, etc etc etc.
I don't want to fund these monkeys, so I don't watch. I will watch a 'how to fix a broken water heater' type video though, since it offers practical information, not just opinions delivered to me in order to line the creator's pockets, just because I am a simp and need/follow the opinions of other men because they are so awesome.
I have a much bigger problem with guys that review guitars, and play them into super expensive rigs. The difference between a $500 guitar into a $5,000 amp, and a $1,500 guitar into that same $5,000 amp are minute. This is most egregious with budget guitars, which often (surprise suprise) *all* sound good. There are a few Youtube "review" channels that I will *avoid* everytime, as they are obviously just hawking the product.I've always found this strange. Proof? Show me a video of any of them with a disclaimer that they were given the guitar to keep, because that is a requirement if it's true, Besides that, I actually don't give a rat's a** what any of their opinions are, since I choose to make my own opinions. I watch the videos for sound samples of products, whether guitars, amps, or pedals, not for their opinions or sales pitches.Problem is a lot of these guys get free guitars from the manufacturer so they almost always feel obligated to give good reviews.
