Bullet Mustang - show and explain your mods

I’m finalizing a bunch of mods on my daughter’s seafoam Mustang - pics coming shortly!

I’m hoping for a suggestion on a replacement 3-way switch? The stock one is very noisy and has a ton of play, but it’s a pretty different switch from the Switchcraft right-angle I have. I just did the pots/cap/jack, and old love to button the rest of the electronics up.

Can anyone suggest anything specific that works?

Thanks again! So far, so good:

-Warmoth roasted maple neck - Hipshot locking tuners are in the mail.
-brass saddles
-completely rewired with CTS 500 linears, an Orange Drop .022 cap, Switchcraft 3-way switch and jack.
-Fralin Pure PAF in the neck, Burstbucker 2 in the bridge
-chrome knobs and Fender ‘F’ neck plate.

Cosmetics may be next, but my daughter loves the color. She’s going to need strap locks…

With Hipshots, strung with 9s and hanging with her big brother. ;)

So...two questions.

1) Hate the brass saddles. The height screws kill my hand, and it doesn't seem to intonate or stay in tune; they don't seem to be under much tension even with shorter screws. I don't want to drill to swap a bridge anymore, so what saddles are the way to go? I was leaning Fender AM. Std. bent steel - which ones are people using?

2) Anyone have a part number on a good hard case? IMG_0013.jpg IMG_0012.jpg

I listed a Chromacast Case back many pages back! My Mustang won't fit a Tele/Strat Hardcase being around 41" long. Gig Bag no problem. I found one on Amazon. Make sure your Guitar is 41" or a little less. Nice ass Neck by the way!

It looks like my Bullet Mustang beat the pickups and pickguard I ordered for it to my door. It had a couple of scuffs on the lower bout that almost completely buffed out with some Scratch-X followed by a bit of wax and could use a new set of strings, but otherwise looks and plays fantastic.

Will be swapping out the pickguard for one in black pearl (which I think will look great on Sonic Grey) and just doing a straight swap of the pickups for the Wilkinsons I mentioned a couple of posts up.

Latest incarnation of my Bullet is with SD Pearly Gates neck and a Custom Custom Bridge with SD triple shots. Many new tones this way. Now I want to wire up series / parrallel and in phase/out of phase toggles, I just gotta figure out how to wire those. Advice appreciated.

Cool. I located it with a 1/8 dowel between bridge and pickguard to start. Used two high e strings to align it. Taped it down good. CAREFULLY drilled pilot holes. Screwed it down without moving it. Its got plenty of travel for intonation.

My back keeps telling me that I'm getting older so I lightened the body after the center section (where the vibrato was mounted) just fell out. Inspirational lesson: Sometimes you get what you paid for. Yeah, right, It isn't a Mustang but I;m proud of the mods.
Tools used: 22 Cal Ruger Long Rifle Ammo, and Shooting range fees. Turned out pretty nice at that = "Bullet" strat

Then I instated a tuneomatic bridge in it. Then I installed pickup lights to indicate which pickups are operating. Then I added a phase switch and a varitone. I slide pickguards in it to test them. But I still play it a lot.

I added the Freeway Switch 3X3-08 Pre-Wired Free-Way Toggle (Series/Phase), you have to do some surgery to make it fit, but it does a good job on series/ phase.

I set it up like this, but am using humbuckers and SD Triple shots:

The Wilkinson Bridge has the best sound of any Bridge I tried.

I really like this bridge too. I'm putting the other one I got on a tele.
